Who appears in Klaviyo claim events
The exact, consent-gated rule for which warranty claims are sent to Klaviyo — and which never are.
Warranty claim events are off by default. Claims are support traffic, not marketing, so you opt in deliberately — and even then, only a narrow, consent-gated set of claims is ever sent to Klaviyo. This article states that rule exactly.
Turning the events on
Open Settings → Integrations → Klaviyo and enable Warranty claim submitted and/or Warranty claim resolved. Both start unchecked. If you never check them, no claim ever reaches Klaviyo regardless of anything below.
The consent rule
With a toggle on, a claim is sent only when all of these are true:
- The claim auto-linked to a product registration — the claimant's email matched the registered owner of that serialized unit.
- That registration owner opted into marketing consent.
If either is false, nothing is sent. In practice this means:
- An anonymous or unregistered claimant — no linked registration — is never sent.
- A registered owner who did not consent to marketing is never sent.
- A claimant whose email does not match the registration on the unit is never sent.
What Klaviyo receives
Only the owner's email (as the profile key) and factual claim properties — reference, serial, SKU, status, category. Personal fields used purely to gate consent are stripped before the event leaves Serial Trail. Recall events are never sent to Klaviyo.
