Quick start: your first assigned serial
Add a serial, assign it to an order, and make it visible to the buyer in three steps.
You can reach the first complete result in three steps. Home derives progress from your real registry, so there is no wizard state to maintain.
1. Add your serials
For one unit, open Serials and choose Add unit. For repeatable inventory, create a pool and either generate serials or import a supplier CSV.
2. Assign your first serial
Fulfill a covered Shopify order to use auto-assign. To choose the unit yourself, open Serials → Fulfillments, select the line, and assign an available serial. Offline orders can use manual assignment or a free-pick scan session.
The lifecycle records Available → Assigned → Sold when a fulfilled line ships.
3. Show it to your buyer
Add the snippets from Show serials to buyers to the packing slip or shipping notification. After the first successful platform write, Home completes this step automatically.
Verify the result
Open the unit passport and confirm its order, fulfillment context, and event timeline. Then open the order serials view from search to see the same assignment grouped by line.
